I had to kick some ass!! BUT the squeaky wheel gets its way! As a tier-one combatant in the COVID War, my county was dragging their asses! Finally, I get mine Sunday!
In reality...this dog has been waiting for this! so I could safely get back in the GAME! too long many of my FAVS and soon to be FAVS have been ignored by me during this damn COVID!

I'm sure you are aware....not really maximally immune for another 5-6 weeks.....~2 weeks after 2nd shot.
Did you get it at doctor's office,  hospital clinic, CVS, Walmart?  Probably more the former two.  The latter two do not seem to be in operation yet.

Yes. No pain on injection and no side effects. Received at a very well run county health operation. Moderna.
My next shot is 28+ days from the first.

Side effects, if there are any,  usually peak 2 days after the SECOND shot......for the Moderna vaccine.

My understanding is that the vaccination doesn’t keep you from catching and transmitting it,
rather it makes the disease less deadly so you don’t get as sick if you get it.

To be determine is how long does the immunity last. 2 months? 2 years? ………?

I would not generalize.  There will be a range of immunity because we all respond to vaccines differently. Then there will be a range of virus amounts one might be exposed to.  Then there are other variables like health, pre-disposing conditions etc that determine how you might respond to virus.  But yes in general if you respond well to a vaccine it should reduce the health complications of getting COVID.  Preliminary indications are some COVID vaccines may provide that protection from COVID for at least 5 months.....that's as long as the data can be at this point.
